How to quote a cleaning job
Every quote should cover estimated hours × your rate, plus job-specific costs and travel, with what's included, what isn't, and your assumptions in writing.
What a written quote needs
| Item | Example |
|---|---|
| The job | Fortnightly clean of a 3-bed house |
| Included | Kitchen, two bathrooms, hoovering, mopping, dusting |
| Not included | Inside oven, windows, laundry |
| Price | £X per visit |
| Assumptions | Based on the property as seen on [date] |
| Validity | 30 days |
| Cancellation information | The client's 14-day right to cancel |
Common mistakes
- Quoting without seeing the property or photos.
- Forgetting the first clean takes longer.
- No written assumptions.
- Rounding down to win the job.
- Leaving out travel and parking.
